Elkhart Police are asking for the public’s help in a shots fired investigation from earlier this month.

It was just before 10 p.m. on Monday, March 21, when police were sent to Carriage House Apartments after several callers reported a large number of gun shots.

At least three apartments and eight vehicles parked along Bradford Court were struck, though there were no reports of any injuries. Elkhart Police collected 30 shell casings.

A witness reported that individuals in a white car were exchanging gunfire with individuals in a black SUV.

Police are asking for the community’s help in identifying those who may have been involved.

Anybody with information is asked to contact Det. Gayton at 574-295-7070, Michiana Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP or 800-342-STOP, or EPD’s tip line at 574-389-4777. You can also submit an anonymous tip at tips@elkhartpolice.org.
