A South Bend man has been sentenced for conspiracy to distribute narcotics.

The US Attorney’s Office says Saul Leal, 25, will serve nine years in prison followed by two years of supervised release after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine and meth.

Court documents say he and his co-defendants took trips to California in 2017 to drive the drugs back to the Midwest. A police stop led to the discovery of the drugs.
