A 49-year-old man was seriously hurt when he crashed the moped he was operating into a curb in Elkhart County.

The collision happened just before 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, on County Road 26 near County Road 9, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim had to intubated for a head injury.

He was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment.

There was no immediate update on the man’s condition, or factors on why the crash occurred.
