Woman reported missing in Mishawaka has been found safe

UPDATE 2: The Mishawaka Police Department reports that Freddie Brooks has been found and is alive and well. She has been returned to her home and is safe.

UPDATE 1: The search for an elderly woman last seen after walking away from Cedar Hurst Senior Living Center in Mishawaka continued on Wednesday.

Freddie Brooks, 83, was last seen Monday afternoon after walking away from the Cedar Hurst care facility in the Edison Lakes area.

Mishawaka Police volunteers, and tracking dogs searched the wooded areas near her last known location.

Four separate ponds were also checked by the fire department dive team. Currently there are no additional formal or scheduled searches planned.

Brooks is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance. Citizens may also call their local police agency if they are outside of the City of Mishawaka or call 911 to report a possible sighting.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Mishawaka Police Department is investigating the disappearance of Freddie Brooks, an 83 year old black female, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 150 pounds, gray hair with brown eyes, last seen wearing glasses, a maroon shirt, khaki pants and pink slippers.

Freddie is missing from Mishawaka and was last seen on Monday, July 11, at 2:05 p.m. after walking away from Cedar Hurst located at 1025 Park Place in the Edison Lakes area.

She is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.
