The two missing IU students were found dead Tuesday morning. Their bodies were under 18 feet of water near the Paynetown Marina at Monroe Lake.

It is still not clear exactly what happened, but the cold water, windy weather, and lack of life jackets likely contributed to their deaths. Indiana Conservation Officers began looking for 19-year-old Siddhant Shah and 20-year-old Aryan Vaidya Saturday night.

The two hopped on a pontoon boat with some friends Saturday and went to Monroe Lake. They eventually got into the water and did not resurface.

Their friends said they were not able to help, and rescue efforts were shortened Saturday due to the darkness.
