The 69 year-old Swarbrick has left a huge imprint on college sports in the 15 years that he’s held the job at Notre Dame, including a number of championships in several sports during his tenure, and being one of the masterminds of the 12-team College Football Playoff system that goes into effect next year.

His replacement will be NBC Sports Group Chairman Pete Bevacqua, who will join Notre Dame on July 1t as a Special Assistant, being mentored by Swarbrick.

He’ll move into the office sometime in the first quarter of 2024.
