Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Friday afternoon.
Indiana State Police were called near mile-marker 93 on the Indiana Toll Road, where two semis and a Chevy had crashed.
At this time, they think one semi driver failed to slow down near a work zone, ultimately rear-ending the Chevy, causing it to hit a guardrail.
That same semi then crashed into another semi’s trailer.
The Chevy driver was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.
The semi driver responsible for the crash was flown to Memorial Hospital, and the other semi driver was not hurt.

I know we all depend on the goods and other products that are delivers by Semi-Drivers. But their driving habits are the worst. How many times have you been approaching a slower moving Semi to pass only to have it pull out in front of you to pass an even slower truck of some kind. This happened to me several times last Thursday on a trip to Merrillville from Elkhart. After thinking the driver is a stooge I look in my rear view and see a completely empty road behind me. Had he let me pass he could have passed the other truck with NO ONE behind him. Then there are the semi drivers going at least 10 mph over the truck speed limit. Where are the officers that are suppose to patrol the interstates? Why are they not stopping the truckers and making them obey the speed limits? What are we paying them for?
