A South Bend man with a two-year-old child in the vehicle was arrested for charges related to operating while intoxicated after being stopped by an Indiana State Trooper in Mishawaka.
At approximately 10:40 p.m. on Monday, June 26, a state police trooper stopped a 2010 GMC SUV for an equipment violation near Lincoln Way and Taylor Street. Harris was ultimately found to be more than twice the legal limit after being taken for a certified test. He was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated With a Passenger Less Than 18 years of Age, a Level 6 Felony as well as misdemeanor charges for Operating While Intoxicated and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Ever Obtaining a License.
Harris was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail. The two-year-old was released to a relative that was contacted to come to the scene.
