Indy Democratic councilman joins U.S. Senate race

A Democratic City Council member from Indianapolis has joined the race for the state’s soon-to-be-open seat in the U.S. Senate.

Keith Potts will compete with former state lawmaker Marc Carmichael in the race for the party’s nomination in 2024. This is the seat Senator Mike Braun is vacating in order to run for Governor of Indiana.

Potts was elected to the Indy Council in 2019 and didn’t seek reelection this year. Republican Representative Jim Banks is the only prominent GOP candidate for the seat.

Just fine. One of the lawless Indy city councilmen wants to become a lawless US Senator. Why is he lawless? Because he is pushing an anti-gun ordinance that cannot be enforced because of state law. He will vote for it on July 10th. If you want very skeevy representation in the US Senate vote for him. He is incapable of following the law or the Constitutions. Perfect swamp material.

On top of which he is not a critical thinker. There are more guns outside of Indy than in it, but there is far less crime. Blaming the guns for the crime in Indy is nonsense, and you cannot take him seriously for supporting it.
