The family of an 18-month-old who fell out of a cruise ship in 2019 is able to proceed with their lawsuit against Royal Caribbean.
That’s the ruling a U.S. Appeals Court made this week — reversing a district court’s decision to throw out the lawsuit two years ago.
Now the family of Chloe Weigand can take their case to a jury.
Chloe was being held by her grandfather near an 11th-story window on the cruise ship when she fell to her death.
The toddler’s grandfather was sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty to negligent homicide.

This is an immense tragedy to lose a child is probably the worst tragedy to occur to have the child die at the hands of a relative through negligence I can see why the family would want to sue because if they can prove that the cruise ship was at fault and not just the grandfather this will help them psychologically but at what point must companies and people protect themselves against others by putting in so many safety standards guardrails warning stickers Etc to protect companies from just lack of Common Sense. my sincerest sympathies to the family
