If you were waiting to hear more information about what happened to that Indianapolis Greyhound bus that crashed in Illinois, you’ll have to wait for a long time.
Even though the National Transportation Safety Board held two media briefings Wednesday and Thursday, they didn’t have much to say.
“We will not be determining the probable cause of the crash while we’re on scene, nor will we speculate about the cause,” said Thomas Chapman with the NTSB.
The bus was traveling from Indianapolis to St. Louis, but crashed into three semi-trailers on the shoulder of Interstate 70 near a rest area. Three people died and over a dozen people were hurt. The driver was hurt as well, but the NTSB couldn’t provide an update on their condition.
Chapman continued, “our investigative team will be on scene for four to six days. We anticipate that a final report will be made available within twelve to twenty-four months.”
Illinois State Police will handle the law enforcement half of the investigation.
