A certified nursing assistant accused of burglarizing an apartment at Hubbard Hill Estates is set for trial in January.
The break-in was reported early this year after the resident returned from vacation and discovered family heirloom jewelry worth more than $4,600 missing.
The retirement home’s IT department revealed that the nursing assistant entered the apartment using keyless entry while the resident was away.
The police investigation, using the LeadsOnline platform, revealed that the suspect, 38-year-old Jasmine Williams of Ellkhart, allegedly pawned the items.
Detectives obtained Williams’ fingerprints and security footage from the pawnshop, and she reportedly confessed to the theft.
