A woman accused of robbery and battery with a deadly weapon has reached a plea agreement in the drug-fueled robbery and stabbing of a man in Elkhart.

It was March of last year when the victim told police he was doing drugs with 28-year-old Shontera Wilson and another man.

He said a heated conversation took place, followed by a break-in at a garage on State Street and during the incident, he was stabbed, and his wallet was stolen.

Police later apprehended Wilson and the other man. Wilson claimed she found the wallet on the ground, and didn’t have a clue about the stabbing or robbery, while the other man claimed the victim attacked him with a knife, causing the wallet to fall out of his clothes.

As part of the plea deal, Wilson will plead guilty to possession of meth, criminal trespassing, and two theft charges from prior cases she was on probation for at the time of the incident.

Her sentencing is set for the end of August.

Its sentence should be termination. It will never be a contributing member of society.
