The community of Three Rivers will distribute lead-reducing water filters to some of the families impacted by high levels of lead in their water. It’s a joint effort between the city and the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph County health agencies in Michigan in response to testing last week that found lead levels above the state’s action level.
WSBT reports that not everyone will be eligible for the filters, and those who are 100 percent certain they don’t have lead water lines can use their tap water.
Filters will be distributed this week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Three Rivers Branch of the health agency, and from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Three rivers Public Services Department.
