Federal money to help fight climate change in Great Lakes region

(photo/Linda Closson)

New federal funding has been approved in an effort to make the coasts of the Great Lakes more resilient to changes in climate.

The region will receive about $2.8 million for coastal conservation, wetlands restoration, and more. Michigan will receive roughly a third of that money, around $875,000 over the next five years to address coastal issues. It’s not a lot of money in the bigger picture, but this round of grants is just the beginning, according to Bridge Michigan, who report that competitive grants in greater amounts will be released in the future.

Weren’t these expenses previously termed typical and standard maintenance costs? Due to the natural cycles of nature? Now they get to allocate more funds from the taxpayer because they categorize it as fighting climate change, which is a sacred cow to the radical leftists. So don’t dare criticize!!!
