10 of 15 Universities in Michigan offer guaranteed admission to 3.0 GPAs

Michigan graduates with a 3.0 GPA are now guaranteed admission at 10 of the state’s public universities.

It’s hoped that the guaranteed admission at two-thirds of the 15 public universities in the state will encourage more students to apply by creating an easier-to-understand pathway that doesn’t lower standards.

Bridge Michigan reports that Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Ferris State, Lake Superior State, Northern Michigan, Oakland, Saginaw Valley State, University of Michigan-Dearborn, University of Michigan-Flint, and Wayne State are all participating in the program. The University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Michigan State, Grand Valley State, Michigan Technological, and Western Michigan are not part of the compact.

The announcement last week introduced the new Michigan Assured Admission Pact, or MAAP, and will begin guaranteeing admissions for the fall 2024 cycle. Tommie Lee MNC News.

They just stated they didn’t lower the standards by lowering the standards. Employers take note.

Yeah, great so we will have smoothbrains with a 90IQ who puked out a 3.0 taking fingerpainting classes getting into engineering school or med school… This cannot possibly end badly.

This is dumb, as are the morons who thought it was a good idea.
