UAW reaches agreement with GM, ending strike

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

The UAW’s six-week strike against Detroit’s Big Three automakers has arrived at its destination…

General Motors and the United Auto Workers union reached a tentative agreement Monday morning that follows the pattern of contract agreements reached last week with Ford and Stellantis, but with a few differences.

An important GM factory in Tennessee was added to the strike list over the weekend to ramp up the pressure.

The combined deals will last just under five years and include 25% pay raises and cost of living adjustments that will bring the wage increase to 30% during the contract.

Enjoy the new $110k compact economy cars from the Big 3.

I wonder how those will sell compared to the $40k equivalents from the non-union manufacturers?

Unions, killing one industry at a time for the last century.
