Tuesday’s rain may be a welcome relief to firefighters across Indiana who’ve been concerned about the recent dry, windy weather we’ve been having.
South Bend Fire crews were called around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, to douse a grass fire.
The blaze happened in the 300 block of Walter Street.
Firefighters brought the fire under control to the leaves, trees, and surrounding underbrush quickly.
The underbrush surrounding the burnt area was soaked down with water to prevent further extension.
There was no report of any injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
