A 19-year-old was sentenced to five years in connection with a burglary and auto theft.

Landon Gibson of Elkhart is accused of burglarizing Pep Auto Sales in September where police were notified of five vehicles missing.

Later in the week, police were called to Ozinga regarding a vehicle parked inside one of the property’s abandoned buildings as well as four of the five stolen vehicles from the lot inside the building.

Police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Impala driven by 19-year-old Anthony Aker with Gibson in the passenger seat. According to The Goshen News, the men admitted to being in the vacant building, and police say they admitted to stealing the vehicles.

Gibson was sentenced to five years at the Indiana Department of Corrections with two years suspended and two years on reporting probation.
