A Westville Correctional Facility prison worker allegedly tried to smuggle marijuana cigarettes into the prison, by hiding them in her wig.

Now, 62-year-old Elizabeth Malstaff is charged for trafficking with an inmate. Officials say Malstaff raised suspicion of security guards, when they felt a hard object between her legs during a pat down on December 7.

She said the object was a feminine hygiene product.

Hours later, she was forced to remove her undergarments’ and later asked to take off her wig.

When she removed the wig, 59 synthetic marijuana cigarettes were found, along with rolling paper.

Malstaff was held in the La Porte County Jail until she posted bond on Tuesday. She faces one to six years.
