Elkhart man pleads guilty to robbery in teen years

Two Elkhart men were charged with armed robbery during their teen years. One of them pleaded guilty to the charge.

17-year-olds Keondre Harris and Elijah Coleman allegedly used a gun to steal cash from a teen victims outside Sunny Side Food Mart along Benham Avenue in Elkhart in March 2021.

The victim met them at the store, thinking that he was going to buy an iPhone for $700.

The Goshen News reports Coleman took the cash from the victim, but the victim pushed Coleman to the ground and was able to take back some of the stolen money.

Coleman pleaded guilty on Thursday to armed robbery, possession of an altered firearm, and resisting law enforcement. He was sentenced to 11 years.
