Several fire departments battled a house fire in Osceola Wednesday morning. Units arrived at the home in the 400 block of Lamport Street shortly before 8:30 a.m.

Smoke was coming from the garage from a fire in the basement, which was under control about 20 minutes later.

Firefighters from Penn, Clay and Mishawaka were at the scene with material help from Baugo and Cleveland Townships. No injuries were reported and the fire remains under investigation.
