Complaint filed after South Bend restaurant employees were pepper-sprayed

A group of 10 people tried to cheat a restaurant’s tipping policy, which led to two employees getting pepper-sprayed.

The restaurant usually adds a tip for larger parties, and at the Wild Crab, they make it clear with an 18% gratuity for parties of six or more.

The group tried to trick the system by pretending not to know each other and sitting in groups of 5. Now there’s an investigation into the incident.

The restaurant says they have filed a complaint about the incident.
