Trial date set for man accused of murder in Elkhart

A trial date is set for an Elkhart man accused of murder.

It happened in September, in the 400 block of Fifth Street in Elkhart. Police found 39-year-old Roosevelt Lewis Jr near the scene, in clothing that matched the description of the witness. Lewis refused to stop and was tazed.

The Goshen News reports that that the victim, Tom Moser the 3rd, was found dead, with multiple bullet wounds.

Lewis was charged with murder, unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, criminal recklessness, intimidation, and resisting law enforcement. His trial is set for August 12.
