Police investigating after man was shot in leg/thigh in Mishawaka

A man is recovering after being shot in the leg/thigh area. Mishawaka Police were called around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, to the 400 block of West Jefferson Boulevard.

The man, said to be in his 40s, was conscious and alert at the time the officers arrived.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators say the person who had fired the gun came to the police department, Thursday morning, and spoke with detectives. He is not in custody at this time.
