A driver ended up in custody after rear-ending a Roseland police officer during a traffic stop.

The incident occurred around midnight, Sunday morning, near the intersection of Cleveland and Kinglet.

According to the police, the officer had pulled over a driver for a traffic violation.

While still in his vehicle, another driver struck the squad car from behind, pushing it into the car that the officer had initially stopped.

Police say that the driver responsible for rear-ending the officer was intoxicated.
