Benton Harbor man pleads guilty after reportedly breaking into wrong home

A Benton Harbor man pleaded guilty to attempted home invasion and malicious destruction of a building.

The incident happened on March 16 when 36-year-old William Kennedy was said to have been going through a bad breakup with the mother of his children and broke into the wrong home.

He reportedly apologized to the owner of the home he broke into. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for four days served, 90 days tether and over $2,500 in fines, costs and restitution.
