Indiana authorities warn of illegal drug, Medetomidine

(95.3 MNC)

Authorities in central and northern Indiana are warning about an illegal drug called Medetomidine.

Originally approved in the 1990s as a sedative for dogs and other animals, it’s now being found mixed with other illegal drugs like fentanyl, Xylazine, and heroin.

This drug is often called the “Zombie Drug” due to symptoms such as sedation, dry mouth, and muscle twitching.

Medetomidine has not been approved for human use.
