Brandywine School Board debates Title IX police changes

The Brandywine School Board debated adopting a new policy to align with updated federal Title IX regulations, which now include protections for LGBTQ+ students.
The proposal was defeated with a 2-3 vote, according to Leader Publications.
One opposing member suggested adding protections for female students and gathering community input before voting again in late August.
The Superintendent warned that lacking an updated policy could risk losing federal funding if a Title IX complaint is filed.
