A 50-year-old man was sentenced after pleading guilty to fentanyl distribution.

Guadalupe Reyes, Jr., a citizen of Mexico living in Elkhart, is facing 235 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release after pleading guilty to distribution of 400 grams or more of fentanyl.

Documents say on three separate occasions between August and October of 2022, Reyes oversaw the shipment of over 3,000 fentanyl pills through the mail from Indiana to a buyer in Texas.

He was arrested in November that year after arranging a sale of 10,000 pills. Overall, he distributed more than 1,400 grams of fentanyl.
