Indiana Pacers guard T.J. McConnell received a four-year, $45 million contract extension on Friday, according to ESPN. This means McConnell’s total contract is now worth $54 million.
McConnell averaged a career high in scoring during the regular season last year at 10 points per game. He also averaged 12 points per game in the playoffs when the Pacers made a run to the Eastern Conference Finals.
McConnell also ranked second in total assists off the bench in the NBA last season. ESPN Stats and Information also said McConnell joined Hall of Famer Michael Cooper as the only players to average 10 points and five assists off the bench in a single postseason (minimum of 10 games).
During this summer, the Pacers also secured long-term contracts for Pascal Siakam, Andrew Nembhard, and Obi Toppin. The Pacers made their first Eastern Conference Finals since 2014 in 2024.
