A man was shot during an incident in Cass County.

Sheriff Richard Behnke says it happened shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday morning at a home on State Street in Vandalia.

Investigators say two men were having an argument that turned violent, with one being shot in the foot. The 24 year-old victim was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for his non-life-threatening injuries, and no ongoing public threat exists.

The suspect remains at large.
