The LINK Trail, connecting downtown South Bend to the University of Notre Dame, is now open.
The  pedestrian and bicycle trail stretches around one-and-a-half miles from downtown to the campus.
The trail project and accompanying streetscape improvements are now open for public use. Starting at LaSalle Avenue and Dr. MLK Jr. Boulevard, a leisurely walk along the trail takes about 30 minutes.
An official ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for Spring 2025, where community leaders and stakeholders will celebrate the trail’s completion.
Further details about the event will be announced next year.
