A man accused in an Elkhart stabbing last month was seen in court last week.

Charles Bell Jr. is accused in the November 18 stabbing at the Marathon Gas Station on S. Main St. in Elkhart.

Police say they found a man leaning against the outside of the building with a stab wound to the lower back, who claimed to have been stabbed at the Energy Oil across the street.

A foot pursuit occurred when the suspect did not comply with the officer’s commands, resulting in the suspect being tased by the officer.

The Goshen News says surveillance footage shows Bell allegedly chasing a victim with a knife in hand before entering into an altercation and then returning with the victim’s backpack.

Bell’s jury trial is set for April 7.
