A LaPorte man was killed in a crash in the 4900 block of U.S. 35.

The collision happened around 6:20 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20. when a Pontiac driven by Robert Kampf, 41, was traveling northbound and collided head-on with a southbound Jeep.

Kampf was taken to the hospital where he later died. The driver of the jeep suffered a lower body injury but refused medical treatment at the scene.

Factors that led to the crash are still being investigated.
