A man accused of burglarizing an Elkhart business was sentenced to a total of four years last week.

Jesus Alvarado Lopez Jr. is accused of the March 29 burglary at Frank’s Painting & Paper. Police found items stacked near the back garage door at the business as if they were getting ready to be taken from the property.

Two men were seen running out of the building, and police were able to find them both in a yard on Marion Street.

The Goshen News says Alvarado-Lopez claimed to have been at the house for 30 minutes, though another man told officers that he had gotten there no more than two minutes prior.

He was sentenced by plea agreement to four years at the Indiana Department of Corrections.
