Firefighters rescued 18 pets from a house fire in Pokagon Township, Cass County.
Crews from Dowagiac and Wayne Township were called, Monday afternoon, to the home on Lyle Drive, where heavy smoke was visible, and the homeowner reported animals trapped inside.
They saved nine dogs, eight cats, and a rabbit, bringing the fire under control in less than 30 minutes.
