Congressman Rudy Yakym has introduced the Ensuring Veterans’ Final Resting Place Act of 2025.

Similar legislation was introduced in the 118th Congress.

The pro-veteran legislation ensures that families of deceased veterans are not constrained when deciding the manner in which their loved one is laid to rest.

The legislation allows a veteran’s survivor who initially chose to receive an urn or plaque from the VA to also have their loved one interred at a VA National Cemetery at a later date.

Yakym says it’s a way to remember and honor veterans that have gone before us.
