One dead, one hospitalized after shooting near Central Park in Mishawaka

One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting near Central Park in Mishawaka.

Police were called around 2 o’clock, Wednesday morning, to the 700 block of Division Street, just north of Mishawaka Avenue when neighbors called 911 after hearing gunshots.

On arrival, police found two people injured. One of the victims was dead. The other was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police have detained a person for questioning and say it was an isolated incident with no further danger to the community.
