On Friday, March 21, 2025, and Saturday March 22, 2025, troopers from the Indiana State Police Bremen Post conducted another targeted, high visibility “Wolfpack” patrol in St. Joseph County that focused primarily on the east side of South Bend and Mishawaka. Troopers worked this patrol starting at 2:00 p.m. and concluding at midnight.
These patrols resulted in:
- 41 traffic citations
- 45 warnings
- 4 OWI arrests
- 18 drug arrests
- 33 misdemeanor arrests
- 5 felony arrests
- 11 drivers found to be driving while suspended
- 12 defendants custodially arrested and taken to jail
Of note, troopers located an unresponsive driver in his car at a stop light in Mishawka that was suspected of overdosing on fentanyl. Troopers were able to revive the driver, and he was ultimately medically cleared and arrested for operating while intoxicated on a controlled substance.
On Friday the driver and passenger of a vehicle were arrested for possession of cocaine. On Saturday, these same two were passengers in a car and were fortunate enough to meet troopers again. This time they were arrested for possession of paraphernalia and the driver of the car had charges submitted for operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a driver’s license.
On Saturday two people were arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia. The female suspect in this incident had additional methamphetamine and paraphernalia hidden on her that was discovered at the jail and resulted in additional trafficking charges.
The Indiana State Police will continue to have high visibility, focused patrols throughout the communities we work in. The goal of these patrols is to use proactive enforcement as well as investigative and crime prevention efforts to make our communities safer for everyone.
