A South Bend man is in jail on felony drug dealing charges following an Indiana State Police drug investigation that began with a neighborhood complaint.
The Indiana State Police began this investigation several weeks ago after receiving a neighborhood complaint of suspected drug dealing in the 3600 block of Edison Street. The investigation progressed and ultimately led to a search warrant being issued and served at 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29.
Troopers located approximately two ounces of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
This resulted in Lance Marietta, 38 of South Bend, being arrested for charges that include Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, and Neglect of a Dependent, Level 5 Felony.
Marietta was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
There were four children in the home at the time of the warrant ranging from the ages of 1 year old to 15 years old. The Indiana Department of Child Services was called, and they responded to the scene. They continued their investigation throughout the day and the children were ultimately placed with a relative.
