Inmate found dead at Elkhart County Corrections complex

An inmate at the Elkhart County Corrections Complex was found unresponsive in the facility’s medical unit around 7 a.m. on Sunday, May 11.

Corrections staff immediately began CPR and called for emergency medical assistance. Concord medics arrived and pronounced the inmate dead at the scene.

Following standard protocol, the Elkhart County Homicide Unit and the Elkhart County Coroner’s Office were called in to investigate the death. No further details have been released at this time.
