11 injured in 2 crashes before the start of Memorial Day Weekend

A crash Thursday night in Granger injured eight people in Granger and briefly shut down Adams Road. It happened at the intersection of Adams and Northfield around 8 p.m. when a Cadillac turned onto Adams in front of a pickup truck. Both vehicles had four people, and one was reported as critical after the crash. No other details have been made available.

Meanwhile, three people were heart in a head-on crash in Elkhart County Friday morning. Police say it happened shortly after 5 a.m. when a car headed west on US 6 near CR 25 crossed the center line and struck an eastbound pickup truck. Both vehicles left the road. One driver was transported to South Bend Memorial. The other two victims went to Elkhart General. The reason the car crossed the center line remains under investigation.
