A jury trial was continued for a man accused of burglarizing a former friend.

It happened in July when police were called to a home on Myrtle Street in Elkhart. Police found the resident of the home walking down the street with a baseball bat.

He told police his former friend, Riley King, had kicked in the back door of his home after making threats to rob him in the days prior.

The victim and his brother were able to overpower King who fled the house, leaving his phone, headphones and bicycle behind.

The Goshen News says King was arrested on charges of burglary, criminal mischief and battery. His trial was continued from June 30 to September 8.
