A Niles man involved in a shooting incident at the Niles Speedway gas station last year has been sentenced to 30 to 90 months in prison.
Alonzo Davis, 40, was convicted earlier this year of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and using a firearm during a felony.
He was acquitted of charges of assault with intent to murder and unarmed robbery.
Leader Publications reports the sentencing follows an altercation in November outside the Speedway gas station at South 11th and Fort Streets in Niles Township.
Prosecutors say Davis confronted a former co-worker, leading to a struggle over a firearm.
Davis fired the gun and the victim was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment of the bullet wound.
