A traffic stop on U.S. 31 led to the arrest of three individuals and the discovery of suspected narcotics, according to Indiana State Police.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, an Indiana State Police trooper Jarod stopped a Toyota Camry for traveling over 100 miles per hour in Rochester. The driver was identified as Liriannys Andrea Munoz Navarro, 22, of Newark, New Jersey. Two passengers in the vehicle were also identified: Marilyn Emilia Mendoza Ceballos, 32, also from Newark, and Gianluca Jaramillo Revelo, 23, of Queens, New York.
While speaking with Munoz Navarro, the trooper noted signs of possible criminal activity and called for a K-9 unit. The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office arrived with a police K-9 who sniffed out drugs in the vehicle.
A search uncovered suspected meth, a controlled substance, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Officers also found a bag of suspected narcotics in a nearby ditch, believed to have been discarded from the vehicle.
All three individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Fulton County Jail. The suspected substances will be analyzed by the Indiana State Police Laboratory for confirmation.
Munoz Navarro faces multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine, obstruction of justice, possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. She was also cited for operating a vehicle without a license and reckless driving. Mendoza Ceballos and Revelo face similar drug-related charges, including felony meth possession and obstruction of justice.
