South Bend Girls Group hosts clothing swap

A South Bend women’s group turned old clothes into new connections over the weekend.
The South Bend Girls Group hosted a clothing swap at the St. Joseph County Library, inviting women to bring items they no longer wear and trade with others.
Anything left over went to two local shelters – St. Margaret’s House and Our Lady of the Road.
Co-founder Shelby Robbins says the idea is simple: clean out your closet, pick up a few new pieces, and help someone else in the process. Attendees also donated toiletries like shampoo, razors, and soap.
The group started last year as a way for women to make friends after college. Now, they partner with local businesses and host regular social events.
With the holidays coming up, they’re planning pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, and a Friendsgiving.
