People in South Bend’s Lafayette Falls neighborhood are raising traffic and safety concerns as plans move forward for nearly 200 new houses.

They worry about construction traffic since the subdivision has only one entrance and exit.

City Council members Sherry Bolden-Simpson and Oliver Davis met with more than 50 people to hear their concerns, joined by leaders from the mayor’s office and local government.

Officials plan to order a traffic study and meet with the St. Joseph County Engineer to explore solutions.
