Police Review Board delays vote on support for officer investigation

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)
The city’s Police Review Board delayed a vote on whether to support an internal investigation into an officer who restrained a 14-year-old girl outside a McDonald’s in August.
Body camera footage of the incident raised questions about how officers handle minors. The board tabled a motion that would have approved or rejected the department’s findings, saying members need more information.
Director Charles King III says the group will review police training and policies on juvenile de-escalation before deciding.
The board has 60 days to act and will revisit the issue at its November 20 meeting.
