Leaders are moving forward with plans to save and restore the vacant Portage Manor in South Bend.

The former county-owned assisted living facility at Portage Avenue and Cleveland Road could soon house St. Thomas More Academy.

School head Kevin Powers and ecological expert Steve Sass led a community meeting, Tuesday night, to present the plan and gather feedback.
